About the speaker
Born and raised in London Ontario, Meagan initially graduated from the University of Windsor in Psychology and Criminology expecting to become a police officer. Upon graduating she backpacked for a year in Australia and the South Pacific, returning with a change of plans, for nursing. She graduated in 2003 from Fanshawe College in London; and ultimately moved to San Diego California in 2004 for full-time job opportunities. In 2007 she left busy San Diego, for the California desert of the Coachella Valley. In 2009 she graduated from the University of Victoria with her BSN, and in 2016 she graduated from California State University with her Masters in Nursing, and a minor in Advanced Education. After 20 years working in various Emergency Rooms throughout Ontario and southern California, roles that included bedside nurse, Manager and Educator, she decided to return to school for her FNP in 2019. Graduating in 2021, she took a 1-year residency program in Family Practice, before embarking on her own in a free-standing family practice clinic in La Quinta, California. Although she is giving a talk on the opportunity of moving south - she recently obtained her NP license to work in Ontario, and now has her eyes set on returning back to her beloved Canada. Until then, you will find her in La Quinta, California with her 15-year old dachshund Barkley; or at her cottage in Bayfield Ontario.
