What’s Inside
Confident menopause care starts with the right knowledge.
Menopause care can be complex. Symptoms often overlap with other clinical conditions, making recognition and management challenging.
This comprehensive course was developed by nurse practitioners in collaboration with leading national and international menopause experts to help clinicians deliver confident, evidence-based care from perimenopause through postmenopause.
Through five in-depth modules, you’ll gain a complete learning experience — from understanding hormonal physiology and symptom patterns to applying diagnostic reasoning, prescribing safely, and supporting long-term health. Each module builds on the last to strengthen your clinical reasoning and confidence in menopause care.
The curriculum integrates Canadian, U.S., and global guidelines, ensuring relevance across North America and beyond. Both metric and imperial units are used throughout.

-
Build a solid understanding of hormonal physiology, staging, and inclusive care principles that form the foundation for effective menopause management.
You’ll learn key terminology, the STRAW+10 staging system, the systemic effects of estrogen decline, the evolving landscape of menopause care, and the principles of trauma-informed and inclusive care throughout.
By the end of this module, you'll understand the biological basis of menopause and be able to stage patients confidently using evidence-based frameworks.
-
Identify and interpret the full spectrum of menopause-related symptoms — from vasomotor and genitourinary changes to mood, cognitive, sleep, sexual health, and other physical symptoms.
You’ll learn to connect symptoms with hormonal physiology, recognize key clinical patterns, and differentiate menopause-related changes from other causes using targeted history, red-flag identification, and appropriate screening tools. This module also emphasizes effective patient communication and counselling strategies to validate symptoms and foster shared understanding in care.
By the end of this module, you'll be confident conducting comprehensive symptom-specific assessments and knowing when to investigate further.
-
Develop a structured, evidence-based approach to evaluating menopause in clinical practice.
This module walks you through comprehensive history-taking, targeted physical exams, appropriate use of hormone testing and imaging, baseline screening, and differential diagnosis. You’ll also learn how to identify and act on red flags that may indicate underlying pathology, interpret results in context, and determine when interdisciplinary collaboration or referral is warranted.
By the end of this module, you'll be able to integrate clinical findings, order appropriate diagnostic tests, confidently distinguish menopause from other conditions, and recognize when referral is indicated.
-
Translate evidence into action with individualized treatment strategies for your patients.
You’ll learn evidence-based and practical approaches to prescribing and monitoring menopausal hormone therapy (MHT), non-hormonal and integrated treatment options, and management of vasomotor, genitourinary, mood, sleep, and cognitive symptoms. You’ll also explore bone, metabolic, and cardiovascular health, contraception in perimenopause, and management of special populations.
By the end of this module, you'll be equipped to prescribe hormone therapy safely, offer evidence-based alternatives, and create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals.
-
Support lasting wellbeing and preventive care beyond symptom management.
You’ll learn about metabolic and nutritional health, bone and muscle preservation, cardiovascular health, cognitive and brain health, mental health and sleep, thyroid and endocrine considerations, sexual health and intimacy, and evidence-based approaches to screening and preventive care.
By the end of this module, you'll be confident guiding patients through evidence-based lifestyle strategies and preventive care that support health and vitality throughout the postmenopausal years.
