Build confidence in managing both common and complex pediatric presentations.

This self-paced online course is designed for NPs and primary care providers who want to move beyond basic well-child care and strengthen their expertise in managing specialized pediatric conditions. The course integrates the latest evidence-based guidelines to support clinical decision-making for complex presentations in the primary care setting.

Topics covered include pediatric dermatology, metabolic health and obesity management, asthma and respiratory care, epilepsy and seizure recognition, autism spectrum disorder, pediatric mental health, and growth and developmental red flags.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify common and complex pediatric conditions encountered in primary care across infancy, childhood, and adolescence.

  • Describe evidence-based approaches to pediatric assessment, diagnosis, and clinical decision-making for specialized presentations.

  • Explain guideline-based management plans for pediatric chronic conditions, including metabolic and mental health concerns.

  • Recognize developmental, behavioural, and neurodivergent presentations, including autism spectrum disorder.

  • Identify clinical red flags and specific criteria that require urgent evaluation or referral to pediatric sub-specialists.
