ADHD Management Course
Coming 2026/27
Build confidence in screening, diagnosing, and managing ADHD in primary care.
This comprehensive, self-paced online course is designed for NPs and primary care providers who want to strengthen their skills in recognizing, assessing, and managing attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Grounded in evidence-based practice, the course integrates pharmacological and non-pharmacological strategies, providing practical tools to safely manage patients across the lifespan, from pediatric to older adult presentations.
Topics covered include clinical variations in women and high-masking adults, structured screening workflows, differential diagnosis, stimulant titration and switching protocols, non-stimulant pharmacotherapy, managing concurrent comorbidities (anxiety, depression, substance use, etc.), side effect mitigation, controlled substance logistics, cardiac safety checks, and more.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Analyze atypical and lifespan presentations of ADHD to eliminate diagnostic omission in high-masking populations.
Select and interpret validated, multi-informant screening tools within a structured diagnostic workflow to support accurate primary care diagnosis.
Formulate evidence-based pharmacological treatment plans incorporating precise initial dosing, systematic titration schedules, and safe medication-switching protocols.
Evaluate concurrent psychiatric comorbidities and metabolic risks to safely determine clinical treatment priorities and avoid polypharmacy.
Implement legally robust monitoring protocols for controlled substances, incorporating objective cardiovascular screening and diversion-prevention strategies.
