This self-paced online course is designed for nurse practitioners and primary care clinicians who want an evidence-based approach to the most common dermatology presentations encountered in everyday practice.

The course covers high-volume skin concerns using a practical, step-by-step approach that strengthens focused history taking, morphology-based assessment, diagnostic reasoning, first-line management, and referral decision making. This supports efficient knowledge consolidation and safer clinical care in primary care, with clear guidance on when referral is appropriate.

Content is developed by primary care nurse practitioners in collaboration with leading dermatologists to keep it practical, primary care friendly, and aligned with real clinic workflows.

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

  • Apply a structured, morphology-based approach to assessing common dermatology presentations in primary care

  • Differentiate common look-alike conditions using morphology, distribution, timing, and symptoms to build a focused differential diagnosis

  • Select evidence-based first-line management for common dermatology presentations, including patient counselling on expected timelines and follow up

  • Recognize red flags that require urgent escalation or specialist referral to support safe triage

  • Document the key details needed for strong dermatology referrals when appropriate
